Fabric Courses

Printed Textiles - Block, mono and screen print.

Venue: Screen-Art studio

2 Arundel Mews, Entrance in Eastern Place, Kemptown, BN2 1GG

On this course, you will learn and experiment with a variety of methods to print images onto fabric. Design and make blocks using immediate techniques before moving on to create vinyl and linocut blocks.

Screen print on to fabric using paper cut stencils and creative mark making techniques and learn how to make direct stencils using the photographic exposure process.

Experiment with mark making and layering colour by using the painterly process of Monoprinting onto fabric and use vibrant colour and overprinting to combine techniques together to add texture and depth to your work. Learn how to register to create repeat or placement prints and develop creative ideas to print your own fabrics, bags, tea towels and more.

Please note, it may take more than one course to cover all the techniques offered, depending on how quickly you work. Course groups are small and people work at their own pace on their own projects.

Inks and test fabric are included in the course fee. Please bring your own cotton to print onto. Bags and tea towels are available to buy from the studio.

All our courses are for adults of 18 years old and over, unless specified.

screen-Art studio is located behind bip-Art Printmaking. The address is 2 Arundel Mews but the entrance is actually in Eastern Place. You are welcome to park in the Mews during the course so please ask for a permit to display in your windscreen.
